I’m a bilingual journalist who is as comfortable cutting tape and white balancing a video camera as I am typing up an article. My favourite stories to pursue complicate how I feel about the world around me — bonus points if they are daunting and outside of my comfort zone.
I am graduating from the Master of Journalism program at Carleton University in the spring of 2025. I am a recipient of the 2025 CBC News Summer Scholarship in memory of Joan Donaldson and Peter Gzowski, through which I will work at The National in Toronto and CBC North in Yellowknife.
I have been invited to speak to audiences on the role of radio in development at the 2024 Futures Forum hosted by Cooperation Canada, and hosted the keynote session at the Reimagining Political Journalism conference in 2024.
Before journalism school, I studied international development studies at McGill University, where I directed my department’s student publications and cemented my appreciation for the weight of narratives and the responsibility of ethical, critical journalism owed to vulnerable communities and individuals.
Before even that, I worked in a quarry, at a bookstore on Montreal’s busiest shopping street and at a law firm. I grew up in rural Quebec and have since lived in three capital cities on two continents. I didn’t always know I wanted to be a journalist, but I have always loved storytelling.
So far, my work has been published and/or aired by CBC Radio, Farm Radio International, Capital Current, CIM Magazine and The Mainstreeter.
