Reimagining the sounds of Palestine
DJ duo SUBR صبر is fusing traditional Palestinian songs with electronic music. The duo got to know each other at the University of Ottawa pro-Palestine encampment earlier this year, and discovered a shared desire to continue conversations. They decided to combine their art and activism, and performed for the first time this fall, at the Pique art festival. Using a language of their own, they invited people to slow down and sit back.
